I have a power tool that doesn't work, what should I do?

How do I get my tool to you?

If within 5 miles of our workshop we will come and collect free of charge! See map at the bottom of the page.

If you are further away then you can drop the tool to us in person, and if you're really far away you can send us the tool via courier.

When will I get my tool back?

We aim to get the tools repaired within 2-3 weeks of being instructed to carry out the repairs. We will always try to improve on this but we hate to disappoint by over-promising. We hold a skeleton stock of spare parts so a lot of the time we only order in what we need - this allows us to offer our customers the best value rather than charging more to cover the cost of a stock room full of parts that may never be needed.

How much will it cost?

This is dependant on what is wrong with the tool, once we have diagnosed the fault we will provide a no-obligation quotation and await your acceptance before carrying out any work.

What happens if you can't fix my tool?

It is not very often a tool can't be fixed, the more probable scenario is that it is not financially viable to fix the tool. Sometimes the cost of the parts add up to pretty much the value of the tool itself. Rest assured we will always provide our customers with an honest opinion on if a tool is worth fixing or not. 

If the tool isn't fixed we will return it to you on a no fix-no fee basis; if we have to send the tool by courier we would require you to cover the cost of the postage.

Alternatively we would be happy to make you an offer and buy the tool from you. Rather than see the tool go to landfill we would take the usable parts from it and hopefully reuse them elsewhere*.

*Rest assured we will never use second hand parts on your tools without agreeing this with you first. This just gives us the option of providing you an even better price if we have a used part in stock.
